CLOVIS - PORTALES - VAUGHN

Portales receives its television signals from several sources. Hometown station KENW-TV will transition to digital February 17, 2009. In order to receive that signal, residents in these communities need to be able to receive a digital signal. However, other signals from sources outside come through translators. These translators are equipped to "translate" that digital signal to analog. Therefore, residents will need to be able to receive both the digital and the analog signals.

Residents who have already invested in a digital television will be able to receive all signals with their television. However, for residents who would like to continue using their analog-tuner set, they will need to purchase a converter box with both a digital and an analog input, or check with their television service providers for service-specific solutions.
