Character Counts! High School Scholarship
The New Mexico Broadcasters Association Foundation has teamed up with Character Counts! New Mexico for the “Pete Domenici Character Counts Scholarship Program”. This program works with radio and television stations statewide to offer Character Counts scholarships to New Mexico students.
Stations across the state conduct an application and judging process and promote the scholarship. The amount of the scholarship is determined by the participating station. Applications for the scholarships begin in January and are usually due the first week of April. |
Each year the New Mexico Broadcasters Foundation awards up to $25,000 in college scholarships to residents of New Mexico who desire a career in any area of the radio or television broadcast industry, including news writing, announcing, sales, traffic, programming, public and community affairs, engineering, accounting, or management.
If you are a student at one of New Mexico's colleges or univerities and are interested in studying broadcast journalism, please take a moment to review our scholarship requirements. Scholarship applications are due each April. Visit the New Mexico Broadcasters Foundation for more information. |
