Job Description: The individual in this position is part of a team responsible for: the Branding and Marketing of the stations via the execution of Radio and TV Stations instant wins, special events, and client remotes and events; Maintaining promotional equipment at all times. You will need to learn quickly about our technology because you will be the main liason to Engineering and IT. The Photo Chief will be expected to provide regular feedback and scheduled critiques to the photographers and editors. And, this is important: the Photo Chief will be expected to have 'tough conversations' when necessary with the staff members. At KOB the many good things we achieve are praised, but when we fall short we focus on fair, balanced accountability. That's how we grow as a station.
Qualifications: Minimum of five-years television news photography and editing experience required. Previous management experience is desirable but not required. A desire to grow people and fit into a coach/mentor role IS required. This is a salaried position. It is an unbelieveable opportunity for a Photojournalist who is an active, proactive Manager now...or who wants to grow into a News Management role.
Other Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry cameras weighing up to 35 pounds and be able to carry additional equipment totaling up to 70 pounds up and down stairs, ladders, hills, or other inclines. Must be able to get in and out of automobiles, airplanes, boats and other vehicles while carrying gear. Ability to walk long distances, run forward or backward, and stand in place for extended periods with camera on shoulder and to work in all types of weather. Good hearing and sight are important.
