The NMBA offers its members many benefits . . .

Career Center – The NMBA offers its members the ability to post their job listings on the NMBA Website. Postings are emailed to job placement sources throughout the region. A record of each posting is kept in member stations' online EEO file. Posting are listed for one month or until a designated close date, and are linked to the Broadcasters Executive Directors’ Association national website.

Alternative Self-Inspection Program – One of the services that the NMBA offers its member stations is the FCC approved Alternative Broadcast Self-Inspection Program (ABIP). This program gives your station the opportunity to have an FCC-approved engineer come to your station and inspect your facility for a nominal fee.

Virtual Job Fair – Each quarter the NMBA conducts virtual job fairs. Member stations can sign up to participate for EEO credit simply by providing the email address of a hiring agent for the station. All applications compiled during these job fairs are then placed in the Members Only portion of the NMBA website for review.

EEO Folders – Each member of the NMBA has an EEO folder maintained by the organization. Members are able to access this folder, which includes records of job postings sent to the NMBA, information regarding virtual job fairs in which the station participates, a record of any NMBA seminar in which a station’s employees participate, and information regarding the station’s participation in the NMBA scholarship program. This folder is a valuable asset if and when a station is audited by the FCC.

NMBA News Network – During the New Mexico Legislative session, the NMBA provides its members with daily reports on the legislature. These reports are in an easy-to-download MP3 format. Simply download the file and play the report on your morning show.

Sports Phone Lines – Telephone lines for coverage of state high school basketball and baseball tournaments, the NMBA arranges this service for you at your request.

Legal Information – NMBA’s attorney, Hal Simmons, is available to members to answer questions concerning the legal operation of your facility.

Convention & Awards Banquet – Each year the NMBA hosts a convention filled with information, entertainment and fun. Our annual Excellence in Broadcasting Awards are presented at the dinner during the convention. These awards honor the best in New Mexico broadcasting. The Convention is a great opportunity for station personnel to get to know fellow broadcasters and learn more about the NMBA. NMBA members pay a nominal fee for convention registration and meals.

Media Directory - Member stations have access to the Media Directory that is up-to-date with every broadcast contact in the state. Members can simply order the directory online or call the NMBA offices for a free copy anytime.

MikeSide – NMBA keeps you up-to-date on statewide broadcasting activities including broadcasters in the news, state and national legislation, business trends, insurance and tax news, legal issues and activities. It is sent weekly via e-mail to all members.

Lobbying – Art Melendres, the NMBA’s lobbyist, works on issues of importance to all of us. Through these lobbying efforts, the NMBA monitors items such as labor and tax issues, trends in advertising and retail business. On a national level the NMBA Board makes an annual trip to Washington to visit the New Mexico Congressional Delegation on issues of importance to New Mexico Broadcasters.

Website – The NMBA website is truly a member service. The site offers the most complete list of all New Mexico stations, links to other websites and much more. We are constantly developing our website to provide greater service to our members.
